De Metz advises international venture capital consortium lead by b-to-v partners AG on the investment in Dutch technology start-up EFFECT Photonics.

De Metz advised on a venture capital transaction whereby an international consortium of investors headed by Swiss based lead investor b-to-v partners AG, took a Series A shareholding interest in EFFECT Photonics B.V., a Dutch technology start-up based in Eindhoven and active in the field of developing photonic chips (‘photonic integrated circuits’ or ‘PICs’). Photonic chips are currently produced only in limited series, but experts generally expect the possibilities for application of  photonic chips to increase rapidly. Whereas the 20^th century was the era of the electron, the 21^st century is expected to be the era of the photon.
