Bart de Metz has been a lawyer since 1989. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial transactions and disputes. Bart studied law in Amsterdam and then obtained his master’s degree (LLM) at McGill University in Montreal. He further followed courses with the University of Exeter and the Faculté International de Droit Comparé in Strasbourg. Bart formerly worked with Nauta Dutilh in corporate, corporate finance and banking, of which three years with the New York office of Nauta Dutilh. In 1997, Bart was one of the founders of De Metz Advocaten. Bart is also a deputy judge in the court of Noord-Holland (The Netherlands).
Bart is a seasoned corporate and commercial lawyer. Experienced negotiator with a great instinct for how a case will develop and where the (real) risks and pitfalls are. Has a weak-spot for American clients since his many years of working in New York.
